  1. I hate saying this, but the dex needs to be refined. In a previous suggestion I meanted evolutions because they are essential to the game. I hate GoogleGrinding for answers or looking in a thread for the answer (no offence to Noad's thread, I love Noad's thread). I would like a way to access location in the game, but also being able to have seen pokemon in the location database as well as owned. This is kind of like a regular dex in the game..... No offence to Google or Noad, but I would like to have access to locations in the game. Swarms can be on the TV not on the map to keep players tuned into the television at NPC households.

  2. People with multiple breeding projects or people who don't wait around for the egg, often forget which pokeymans are with the old man and don't know which egg is being collected. This causes issues picking genders and makes it a painful guessing game in the end. Adding the name of the pokemon, whose egg is with the old man, would solve the problem.

  7. I have another idea instead of getting rewards each duel(which can be heavily abused). Please bare in mind I didn't read your long post.(Sorry!) How about you get tasks, such as defeat 5 players in a duel to receive 2.5k BP which has a 24 hour timer so you can't abuse it and farm the rewards?

  8. That sounds great, if that happens -even the pokeball selection should be included to it. I don't want to add a caterpie to a luxury ball and a completed comp to a normal pokeball.

  11. Update: Congratulations to JJ, MisterHide, NikhilR, XPLOX, Elcoolio and Arimanius for their tournament wins. Scores have been adjusted accordingly. Only difference in standings has been LightLeaks jumping into the so crowded tied 12th place with a Standard 2nd place.

  13. Agreed, and in my opinion, the Pokedex can easily be improved. Like also mention the egg groups. It can be so usefull. And yeah... I hate Google grinding, too.

  15. PokeMMO on one screen Google Chrome on the other (except not on forums, but to look up what level spearow evolves for example) Lets break the middle man (Google) and lets have it in our dex. I am tired of switching screens just to find one tiny answer. I want something easier, something more convenient. Like this... The red star is where the tab should go saying (Evolutionary Line) If the pokemon is undiscovered, replace the undiscovered poke with a question mark like this.... I think this would help out a lot of players. Now I am not asking that the dex be like Bulbapedia, but I am asking for one tab that would probably make the lives of PokeMMO players a lot easier.

  20. Topic: Speculate/Discuss: If player vs. player rewards were to be implemented what do you think is the best way to go about it? What locations? What are the rewards (money/items) and how much? My thoughts (u dont have to read it): *****If you only make a small number of random items generated as rewards (like any 3 things: say just everstones, potions, and healing items), the only thing that will happen is the price of those items will drop - "everyone gets those in duels now, they don't sell for much." I think if you were to implement items as rewards from PvP, you would have to make it like every item in the game (or at least most of them) has a drop chance - 1% masterball, 1% PP max, 1% pokeball, 1% HP brace, etc, etc. *****People complain about breeding expenses, so I thought make breeding tools like braces the rewards. Well, if you do that and make just the braces and breeding tools the PvP rewards, you are hurting the breeders or at least annoying them. They would have to make a trade and go find the other person to trade with during the breeding process if they wanted to not pay the 15k. While not a huge problem, it is just not the ideal way to implement rewards I dont think. *****I was thinking the best way to do it, is to do a drop chance for any item in the game (so no one item loses value), or just pay out pure money (the great equalizer), or a combination of the two. Kind of like in the final fantasy series when you play a random battle you get yen and/or random item drops. As a special note, I wanted to mention that I think PvP rewards are an excellent opportunity to give purpose to players who stall, play defensively, or just to a long duel in general. I mean, even "balanced" teams can have long-ish duels that last 20-30 minutes. How many times have you seen the "I'm wasting my life, this duel is so long" complaints. Of course people get bored, but I was thinking some of those comments come from opportunity cost - the thought that you could be doing something else. So I was thinking you could generate rewards based on time. Like just as an example, say for every 5 minutes you duel, a given amount of yen is generated or one item is dropped. I don't really see how that aspect can be abused because we have an AFK timer in duels. It just seems like a wonderful idea to me when you play a long long duel for an hour, it means you get 10 item drops or something. It gives a reward for playing a long drawn out chess type of match, so the player doesn't feel like they are losing out on time in the game so much for playing a duel like that. I like the excitment of item drops too, like a present after every duel wondering what you get. You could put a little pop up screen with the items you found after the duel. "Player X found $300, X, X, and X on the field while battling." Last thing: you could also implement the difficulty of duels related to yen distributed. I was thinking do it by number of consecutive wins during a log on. What happens in vermillion is sometimes the good players will not duel each other, or people get scared to play good players and then duels just dont happen. Then, the veterans gang on the new guys and try to do easy beat downs. I was thinking this is caused basically by a lack of motivation - there are no incentives. You could discourage this "noob stomping" some if you gave an adjusted higher payout for playing against someone that has won 2 duels in a row for example, that could motivate people to try to beat the veteran player who has consecutive wins or put the veterans against each other. When you lose and the consecutive wins are gone, the payout goes back to the regular amount . So it's kind of like a streak thing. But also since it expires after you lose, it is not really that abusable. You could have payout stages by consecutive duels won(streaks): 1x win = 200k every 5 minutes 2x wins =300k every 5 minutes <- make the payout whatever you want, I just made up these rates for example. 3x wins = 400k every 5 minutes I was also thinking put a limit in terms of how high you could go in terms of payout levels with streaks. Maybe just 3 levels to help make it fail safe from exploiters. You could determine what you want the payout rates to be by comparing it to the rate you can payday money in icefall cave or similar spot. Use that payout rate as a reference and can use money run on the islands for reference as well.

  23. wager battles would be better than RNG generated prizes for pvp as it can be abused using a proxy. If at all there is RNG generated prizes, it should be something basic like pokeballs or repels, and not pp ups and maxes.

    Arcanine - advice pls

    1. Get Relaxed/Sassy instead of these natures. Relaxed makes for a good Heracross/Metagross check, Sassy makes for a good Venusaur or Calm Mind user check. Arcanine also pairs up super well with Slowbro. 2. Morning Sun/Flamethrower/Crunch/Espeed/Toxic are the most common moves. Morning Sun is widely regarded as a "must-have". 3. Mixed Wall is the most common set 3. Usually Arcanine does't have HP but the only one I would really consider running is HP Electric to bait Gyarados & Aerodactyl. Arcanine generally just doesn't have the offensive options to be effective in OU with so many walls dominating the tier - the best it can do is provide support against common Steel types and hope to nail the Toxic on opposing Walls like Slowbro, Ludicolo or Porygon2. Choice Band Arc is an option, but genereally it's just "ok"

  32. With Pay Day's effect removed when used on wild Pokemon, that leaves only NPCs as the best source of income that does not rely on trade or attempting to Thief items with a low hold rate. When the Vs Seeker is the best way to farm money, it will be used frequently by a lot of players and will become a very important item. Traveling around the region each day using it on every trainer means that the player will be biking a LOT to recharge it. Mindlessly biking up and down is bad gameplay. Now that money grinding is actually necessary, that 100 step cooldown on the Vs Seeker begins to become very noticeable. It's pointless, tedious, and doesn't belong in an MMO. If players are expected to be semi-relying on it as a source of income, removing this annoying session of biking that occurs every couple of minutes would be a small and much appreciated mercy. Pros: -Makes money grinding more bearable and less tedious -Removes something obnoxious and pointless -Somewhat makes up for the inability to fight NPCs more than once per day Cons: -None worth mentioning Discuss~

  36. @Hardcore I see someone's been busy today. I don't agree with your choice of shiny color on Swinub and Piloswine. Not sure about the design on Slowpoke or Aipom. Slugma is being worked on yet, but I do appreciate having the shiny palette ready. I like the design of Krabby and edits on Kingler. Furret has a 14 color palette at the moment, and it has room to improve yet. Your Furret set was 1 pixel smaller than it should've been, so I fixed it and re-uploaded it. @CW @Deciton Hi. For now, just pick whatever you want from that list, I guess. Moetal would be able to tell you better than me. :lol:

  41. Honestly maybe the problem is on my end. Maybe I just expect too much. You see, I've been playing this game for a long, long time, and for the better part of 3 years, the monthly team tournament has been the backbone that's held up the competitive community. Individual tournaments come, go, and are forgotten - even the luster of tournament series like masters and spring championship fades after a while. They can't go on forever. But every single month, people come to play for their teams at the team tournament. For the winners, it's the pinnacle of achievement in pokemmo (ask some of the best players here what was a better feeling, winning their first individual tourney or their first team tourney), and for the losers, the hunger sets in immediately to grind and get better for the next month's. Some of the most memorable moments, matches, arguments, comebacks, etc have been in team tournaments, and even though I'm not very active anymore, I try to always show up because it's so entertaining. A lot of staff members have been around as long as I have, if not longer. Therefore, I assumed you guys would share my reverence and appreciation for the TT. But it really seems like you guys don't get it. It's not about "having lives outside the game" when other tournaments are constantly given more attention than this one. It amazes me that at the beginning of every month, I see gimmicks going up weeks ahead of time. Then, a week before the end of the month, staff scrambles to throw a TT thread together and fit it in before the month is over. Sometimes this results in a TT for one month happening in the next month, which is ridiculous - but still preferred to no TT at all, which was the nightmare situation last month. I don't think I'm asking for the world here - the TT should be a higher priority than other tournaments in my opinion, due simply to its significance. However, i'd settle for giving the TT equal attention compared to other tourneys - not slapping it together at the last minute if it's convenient for staff.
