I would like to join. But I am already in a guild, i think Giygas called it the PokeMMO community that doesn't include the small percentage of trolls that you see in global. I can't remember the acronym though.Good luck with this.

  2. My suggestion is that we use a slightly modified version of the Pokemon Emerald pickup table This is the table of items available from the pickup skill in Fire Red / Leaf Green. Also notice that all of the good items it offers (Hidden Power TM, Rare Candies, PP Up) are all available at any level. This means that anybody could catch 6 meowth and immediately farm rare candies, Hidden Power TMs, and PP Up. Notice that it is full of berries. Rare Candies, Hidden Power, and PP up are basically the only useful items on there, as there is already a berry salesman implemented in the game. THIS is the pickup table from pokemon Emerald. Major Differences: 1) No berries 2) Wider variety of items 3) The items received vary based on the level of your pokemon. The variation by level means that somebody has to put time and effort into raising their pokemon in order to get the full benefits of the ability. I mentioned at the top of the thread that it should be a slightly modified version of the Emerald pickup table. What would I like modified about it? Hidden Power. If you notice, Hidden Power TM is missing from the Pokemon Emerald pickup table. If anything, the White Herb should be replaced by Hidden Power. This keeps it semi-rare while still being accessible to mid-level trainers. SOURCE: http://bulbapedia.bu...ickup_(ability) ADDITIONAL NOTES: Suggestion 2: (Atuan's) An icon on the party bar indicating which pokemon are holding items. Suggestion 3: The confirmation for removing an item from a pokemon should be removed. There are no negative consequences, and once pickup is implemented it will only serve to be a nuisance.

  6. If you like it then please leave a like, thanks. UPDATE: JANUARY 13, 2013. As you may or may not know, yes, I did quit. After seeing that people are still interested in this guide I am beginning to feel guilty that I have not updated it. Thank you for all the views and thanks over the months, seeing some stupid thing I typed up being received that well and just getting viewed this much blew my mind! If you're going to be in the Sevii islands use Squall's guide: Link I'd like to ask that mods consider pinning the other EV guides as well since it's a whole different game from when I played. I'd hate to just straight up delete this thread but it's probably obscenely out of date and probably should be replace by a guide that someone else has written that is up to date. You'd know better than I would about it being informative. Before you get started you may like to know what EVs actually are. EV stands for 'effort value'. 4 Evs will increase a pokemon stat by 1 point, the maximum amount of EVs in a stat is 255 but the recommended maximum is 252 so you can use the remainder points in another stat. If you want a full guide and explanation of what EVs are you should check somewhere else like bulbapedia. If you have never played pokemon competitively before and would like to learn more about sets and EV spreads then I would recommend checking out smogon. They have all you need and more on basic cookie cutter sets. (Sorry for everyone who just cringed) Also, do not make the mistake of EV training a bad natured pokemon. For example an adamant abra. If you are going to sink the time into EV training, then you need to catch a pokemon with a nature complimentary to the stats you want. For example again a timid alakazam is perfect, as you will be EV training it for SpA and Spe. Here is a link to my preferred natures chart. The - stands for a subtraction of 10% and a + represents a subtraction of 10%. As you can see if you look at the chart timid adds to speed and subtracts from attack. You can also hover your mouse over the pokemon's nature in the pokemon summary to show what it does. I don't like to rely on that, though. Sometimes it's unresponsive. This is a list of all the places to train EVs. It will tell you what pokemon will give what EVs and where to find them as well as their levels. I will ammend it as new content is released. If you see something wrong, let me know. Even I, the great and powerful Galium-sama-rama-chan-san-kun make mistakes. Also, this is not a natures or how to EV train thread. That's another show guide. You would be surprised what doesn't give the EVs you thought it would (like weedle, speed what?) The recommended pokes to train on and the best area to find them will be bolded and highlited in red. Stat Recommended Area Level of pokemon Health (HP) Fat things give HP EVs and it's no coincidence that there is a fat guy sitting next to the pond in viridian. Before surf - Caterpie. Fishing there will always land you a goldeen, seaking or gyarados. (Thanks Tsriel.) Watch out for the psyducks, though. Ditto also appear in the same area (and the pokemon mansion basement at a 10% rate) as venonat so you can proceed to catch those in hopes of good natures for breeding (someday). The venonats appear on routes 13, 14 and 15, I recommend going to route 15 for the tasty dittos and close proximity to the pokecenter. After you get surf you can encounter tentacools and it's much easier to grind those than it is to grind venonats. And no, you can't surf into tentacruel until post game. GC Held Items in the Wild

Just some things I think should be added to the wild. This was a suggestion before the Game Corner came out, but looking back I think it still makes sense. Sure we could play the GC for a little while and get the coins for these items, a lot of people would prefer that. I think having the alternate source would be neat, though. Smoke Ball: Koffing Charcoal: Magmar Miracle Seed: Exeggcute Mystic Water: Kingler Silk Scarf: Persiansw White Flute: Jigglypuff

  10. First off I'd like to apologise if there's a topic already like this one, I did a search but didn't really find anything quite like what I'm reffering to. My suggsetion is simple, impliment some sort of rotation to the safari zone that could have us catch Gen II and III pokemon, perhaps having the catchable pokemon change every month. For those that like to grind for Lucky Eggs and the dragon items Chansey, Dratini and Dragonair should be kept where they are, or perhaps there could be a designated area within the Safari zone that always has Gen I pokemon in it. As a very rough example: Nidoran (m) & (f) -> Aron Nidorino & Nidorina -> Lairon Doduo -> Wingull Paras -> Surskit Parasect -> Masquerain Kangaskhan -> Spinda Pinsir -> Volbeat Scyther -> Illumise I think this should be a bimonthly thing, so once the month is over it should switch back to the Gen I pokemon, and then next month switch to Gen II, or just some different Gen III pokemon. (Seviper and Zangoose in place of Scyther and Pinsir, as an example) Terribly sorry I'm not too good at explaining things, if anyone's confused as to what I mean I'll try to explain further.

  11. Change the BG file in patches to match something that's going on in PokeMMO! It's not like it matters so much, but many other MMOs has this and I think it gives a nice feeling to the game. It makes us see it's updated, too. For example, this month (October) during the "spooky" event, we could have a spooky login background to get us into the mood. I know I mentioned having creative contests in the event suggestion thread, and maybe it's a good idea to have art contests considering the event login screens. Otherwise, the staff could just pick an awesome picture they see fit. it's not like it's hard to find one on the interwebs Any thoughts~?

  12. Even I, who have never had a shiny (except once in a platinum rom. Was ponyta. Computer and the save has since died) feel shiny should stay rare and a prize. I once did a hack to only encounter shiny Pokemon. Was cool looking but totally wasn't special. I'd rather a prized and rare rattata than a cool looking common black charizard.

  31. No, the box trick is for normal ingame where stats don't get calculated between levels. So say you gain 50attack EVs and only gain half a level, ingame you won't see the stat increase until you level up. Ingame you get around this by putting a pokemon in the box and it recalculates its stats with the EVs it has. This was used in Gen 1 and 2 to fix level 100s without full EVs (stat exp is what it was called back then), since you don't need to level them up. I've heard in PokeMMO that it recalculates after every battle though, so I don't know if the box trick is necessary.
